Question: What is your favourite part about teaching religion? Answer: I guess- there's a couple of things. First of all, I’ve always taught religion even though I could teach English. I’ve always taught religion because I’m much more passionate about religious studies than I am about, you know, English. Though I’ve taught English before in night school; for me, teaching religion was always important because I always felt that students need God. People need God. If I can help someone’s faith, even just a little bit, through what I’m teaching, for me it's the greatest fulfillment I can experience in my career. Also, in teaching religion, I’ve grown in my own faith, because I’m constantly learning more things. There’s so much to know. Our Catholic faith is so rich that I’m constantly learning. It's personally fulfilling, but also fulfilling when I think, hopefully, I’ve done something to help somebody else's faith so that they grow closer to Christ. Question: Do you have any advice for future graduates? Answer: Oh man. I haven’t even graduated yet. But my advice, as much as I just said “no, no, no,” to education, it's actually great. Stick to your students and join Student Government. Make a difference. That’s it. That’s literally all I have to say. Stick to your students, join Student Government, get around, make a difference. Do something to make a difference. Do something that you'd be proud of. That’s literally it. Do something that you’d be happy with and that when you look back on, you won’t be embarrassed about doing it. Student Government is not embarrassing. It is so good, for everything, not even for just leadership., click 'Read more'.
